Welcome to Wildlife Management Partners. This information includes application info and dates and some general information on how to apply with the appropriate states for your hunt.

Iowa: We are located in Allamakee county in the "Bluff Country" of extreme NE Iowa. Bounded on the north by Minnesota and on the east by the Mississippi River, Allamakee is the #1 county in the state of Iowa for Trophy Whitetail. (by far!) It has also been the #2 or #3 county for many years as far as total number of deer harvested. We kill over 5 deer per square mile across the entire county every year! Remember, much of the county is not all huntable, and very little of it is as good as my Management Properties! Deer densities on my Management Properties range from 50-75 deer per square mile. (pre-season). On just the "Premium Property" (1500a) in 2005 we harvested over 25 antlerless deer. This is approximately 12 deer (just antlerless) harvested per square mile, and we will be lucky not to increase total deer density next year. (Doe shooting occurs only after Trophy Hunts are over on any particular management farm or in areas not affecting Trophy Hunts) The habitat here is the best in the world. Because of the extremely great habitat, additional food plots, deer mineral licks, and solid management practices, we can carry this many animals and not sacrifice quality on the Trophy Bucks.

Iowa is a "Draw" state. The application period has been from around May 1 to the 31. You must specify Zone 9 and a Season Choice when applying. You can apply online @ www.iowadnr.com or call the IA DNR at 515-281-5918 to have an application packet mailed to you. Applications will probably not be available or posted on the DNR web site until around April 1. The price for an 08 license has not yet been set, but in 07 was around $426.00 (includes small game + doe tag).

Minnesota: We hunt in Houston Co. (Area 349) in extreme SE MN, Houston county has over 30 miles of common border with Allamakee Co. IA (#1 B&C county in IA) and has identical land features and habitat. Deer densities here are somewhat more variable in the huntable areas of the county, but on good private land are as high as in Iowa. Very rugged terrain in Houston county has provided it with a good number of bucks getting to the magical 3 year old mark and older despite slightly higher hunting pressure there. Don't dismay at not getting an Iowa tag and taking a MN hunt! This Houston Co. MN hunt is a better hunt than 3/4 of the state of Iowa could ever offer! Do your own research if you must; Houston County MN is the #1 County in MN for B&C kills per square mile !

Minnesota sells nonresident tags over the counter. They charge you the same that your resident state charges nonresidents for a license. Example: If you live in WI and WI charges $160.00 for a nonresident tag, that will be your price for your (MN) tag. Be advised that in the past there has been a two day waiting period for bow tags to become legal, so if bow hunting, you will want to order your license ahead. You can do this online @ www.dnr.state.mn.us or call the MN DNR at 888-646-6367 for other options.

Are you ready to reserve your hunt with Wildlife Management Partners, Inc.?
IOWA:
All hunts require a $500.00 deposit per hunter to reserve your hunt dates. One half of balance of hunt payment is required July 1 (after successful drawing), final balance due three weeks prior to hunt by personal or company check or in $CASH$ on arrival. Your deposits guarantee your hunt dates and the price of your hunt. (In case you don't draw a tag, your hunt price is guaranteed until you do draw.) Your deposits assure that the leases will be maintained, properties remain posted, and the deer there will have adequate food plots and quality deer mineral licks available year around.

You must specify Zone 9 and select a Season Letter * for your '07 tag. Call 800-367-1188 to get your '07 tag. Application period will not open until May 3, 2007.
Iowa Seasons:
Letter A = 1st Shotgun     Dec. 1-5
Letter B = 2nd Shotgun   Dec. 8-16
Letter C = Bow         Oct. 1 - Jan. 10Bow Closed Dec.1-16
Letter D = Muzzleloader Dec. 17 - Jan. 10

MINNESOTA:
Hunters must have their deposits in for an Iowa hunt and be unsuccessful in the Iowa drawing before the opportunity to receive a Minnesota hunt. These hunts will be awarded on a "first deposit, first come" basis until hunts are filled.  I have more properties available in IA than in MN and would prefer that you hunt IA. Because of the IA draw, I need to have people applying for the IA hunts in order that they gain a preference point for IA for the next year. I currently do not have enough farms in MN to not require the IA deposits and entering the IA draw. (I will only book hunters directly to MN hunts after the IA draw has concluded and only if hunts are still available there. People that entered the IA draw will have first chance at the limited number of MN hunts available.) My MN properties would overbook very quickly to do it any other way. IA deposits will not be applicable to MN hunts. Again, your IA deposits guarantee your hunt dates and the price of your hunt in IA for a future hunt if you do not draw. You have the choice to wait for your IA hunt if you prefer.
Payment schedule is ½ hunt price by July 1. (After IA draw) Final balance due three weeks prior to hunt by personal or company check or in $CASH$ on arrival. MN licenses are available over the counter, but there is a 2 day delay before bow licenses are valid. Please secure your bow license before you arrive for your hunt!
